MARGAO: Alertness on the part of motorcycle pilots outside the Margao railway station helped reunite a 15-year-old boy from Udupi with his mother.
PSI Dattaguru Samant of the Konkan Railway police said that the minor boy who had run away from home, came to Margao by the Mangalore-Pune express on Tuesday afternoon.
On alighting from the train, he approached the motorcycle pilots and asked them to take him to any nearby hotel. The motorcycle pilots became suspicious and alerted the police who rushed to the place and took the boy into their custody.
Upon interrogations, the boy told the cops that he had run away from home as he wanted to "avoid his studies".
The police soon contacted his mother at Udupi."She is on her way to take custody of her only son," Sawant tol TOI late Tuesday night.
"The three motorcycle pilots- Ahmed Sharif, Irfan Mulla and Khaja Shaikh- did a commendable job in alerting us," Sawant added.
